I was 17 when I first started losing my hair. Every day, I would run my fingers through it and find strands in my hand and on the floor. At that time, there were no effective treatments, no online resources, and very little support. I still remember my doctor telling me to accept the inevitable. It was devastating.
This was 1991 — long before the internet
Instead of giving up, I became determined to understand the biology behind hair loss and skin health. I spent countless hours studying human physiology and botanical medicine. Through research and experimentation, I eventually found ways to control my hair loss and acne using targeted nutrients and botanical compounds.
Three decades later, the market is flooded with skin and hair products and I have tried most of them. But my body cannot tolerate many of the drug-based pharmaceutical options, and the cosmetic products I tried failed to deliver results despite all of their promises.
Too many products were selling hope in a bottle – and I was tired of it
In my eye care clinic, I frequently saw the effects of harsh chemicals, used on lashes or brows, which caused irritation and lasting damage. People often did not know that these effects could happen from using simple lash serums containing chemicals like prostaglandins, which were marketed as completely safe.
So, as a healthcare professional trained in human biology and physiology, I approached the problem differently – by focusing on the science, not marketing.
I began formulating my own products – formulas designed to be smarter, Biologically complete and more effective.
The earliest SkinCosmic formulations were created for personal use.
But when friends and colleagues began using them and reported real improvements, it became clear these formulations could help others facing the same frustrations.
